Over 40s 2023 Nationals (Oct 20 – 27, 2023)

Dear Masters,

Planning for the highly anticipated Over 40s 2023 Nationals is underway. See the information below.

Timeline – With the Over 40s National Team touring Pakistan in Sept/Oct 2023, the best time for the O40s Nationals will be October 20 through the 27. Meet & Greet will be on Oct 20. Games will be played on Oct 21, 22, 24, 25, 27. Oct 23 and 26  will be rest days. All teams will play 5 games. Awards & Banquet will be on Oct 27. All teams are encouraged to attend the pre and post tournament events. The value of networking at these events is immense as many in the Masters community can attest.

Teams. There has been increasing demand from new teams to enter the tournament and we are figuring out the logistics to accommodate 16 teams. As announced earlier this year, the top 3 teams from each Zone will automatically qualify for the Nationals. One wild card  entry will be afforded to each Zone for the fourth team. The team will be picked from a lottery of entries for each zone. The lottery is only applicable for the 4th team per zone. If a team from the original qualified 12 does not register by the due date, that slot will be filled through the lottery process. Each team may register a roster of 15 players. Lottery will be completed by Aug 5th, 2023. 

Registration. Registration fee is $6,500 per team. All teams must confirm registration with a non-refundable deposit of $1,500. Registrations open July 15, 2023. The deadline for registration of teams is July 31, 2023. Late registrations will not be entertained.

Deposit. A  deposit of $1500 is to be paid no later than July 25, 2023 to confirm team registration. Deposits must be made by Zelle to usamasterscricket@gmail.com. This deposit is non-refundable for any team eligible to participate in the tournament. If a team does not qualify for the wild card entry, the deposit will be returned.

In the note section for the Zelle transaction, please include the following – 1. Team Name, 2. Captain’s Name, 3. O40s 2023 Nationals Registration Fee. (e.g. North Knights-Vinod Motwani-O40s 2023 National Registration Fee.) 

Once you’ve made payment, please take a screenshot and email to the Point of Contact for your Zone listed below. Registration is done only after this step is completed.

Venues. The tournament will be hosted in Houston. Prairie View Cricket Complex and Moosa Stadium Complex are the venues. In addition to the regular pitches at Prairie View, games will also be played on the hybrid pitch available at Prairie View.
